Event registration
These terms apply when you register for an event through howmuchsun.io.
Events are organised in the context of the HowMuchSun project. Registration is free of charge unless otherwise stated on the relevant event page.
By registering, you agree to provide accurate information and acknowledge that we may contact you with information necessary for the organisation and delivery of the event, including registration confirmation, reminders, access details and relevant follow-up materials.
Personal data and privacy
When you register for an event, we may collect personal data including your first name, last name, email address, organisation and job title.

Where applicable, other members of the HowMuchSun consortium may process personal data in connection with the organisation and delivery of the event.

We process your personal data for the following purposes:
- to manage your registration and participation in the event;
- to communicate practical information concerning the event, including confirmations, reminders and access details;
- to provide event-related materials, such as presentations, recordings or follow-up information; and
- where you have separately agreed to this, to keep you informed about relevant HowMuchSun activities, events and developments.
The legal basis for processing your data for event registration and administration is Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.
Your personal data may be accessed by members of the HowMuchSun consortium and by service providers involved in operating the website, managing communications or organising the event, where necessary for these purposes. Such service providers process personal data subject to appropriate data-protection obligations.
Where personal data are transferred outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards will be applied in accordance with the GDPR.
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described above and in accordance with applicable legal, contractual and project requirements.
Subject to the conditions set out in applicable data-protection law, you may have the right to access, correct or erase your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, request data portability, and withdraw your consent where processing is based on consent.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent data protection supervisory authority.
Photos and recordings
Photography, video or audio recording may take place during HowMuchSun events for documentation and communication purposes. Participants will be informed when photography or recording is taking place.
General photographs or recordings of the event may be used to report on and communicate about the event and the HowMuchSun project.
Where an individual participant is the main subject of a photograph, video or interview intended for publication, appropriate consent will be obtained where required.
If you do not wish to appear in photographs or recordings, please inform the event organisers. We will take reasonable steps to respect your request.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms and this privacy notice from time to time to reflect changes in our events, processing activities or applicable requirements.
The version made available at the time of your registration will apply to your registration.
